The Board of Knox County Commissioners, DKMM Solid Waste District and the OSU Extension are pleased to announce the Recycling Program for Primary Education which has been designed to teach waste recycling principles and methods to grades K-5.
The objective of this program is:

To broaden their understanding of benefits that recycling has in their schools, communities and world.

The curriculum is designed:
1. To be grade specific for easy understanding, which includes activities to maximize different learning methods.
2. So that all lessons reinforce state standards for science and social studies. For more information on specific lessons and grade specific themes please see RECYCLING EDUCATION FOR YOUR CLASSROOM.
3. To teach students the importance of natural resources, the impacts of not using them wisely and about methods for recycling that can preserve our environment and decrease our dependence on raw resources used in manufacturing.
