4-H School Enrichment Programs

The following are a list of the available programs and their descriptions....

  Acorns To Oaks
· Designed for grades 4th—6th

· Curriculum has 4 units with 2 lessons in each unit.

· Integrates concepts of plant science into easy-to-use science, language arts and math lessons. 

  Beans About Water
· Designed for grades 5th—7th

· A 4 lesson curriculum.

· Uses the plentiful soybean as a tool to study the properties of water and changes in matter.

  Breads of Harvest
· Designed for grades 3rd and 4th

· A 3 unit curriculum.

· Explores the science, nutrition and history of bread making since the pilgrims.

  Field of Genes
· Designed for grades K—12

· Teaches about the wonders & complexity of life.

· Provides research-based information to challenge youth to make their own informed decisions. 

  Fishy Science
· Designed for grades 3rd—5th

· A 4 lesson curriculum.

· Teaches how fish swim, breathe, their sensory features and their adaptation to water.

  Getting Into A Food Mood

· Designed for grades 3rd—10th

· The curriculum has 3 chapters with 3 to 4 activities in each.

· Teaches about where our food comes from, how we view it and how we are assuring the future populations will be fed.

  GO Plants
· Designed for grades 3rd and 4th

· This is a 5 week, five lesson unit that focuses on a specific part of the plant each week.

· This curriculum includes planting, growing and maintaining plant materials.

   Growing Together
· Designed for grades 3rd and 4th

· A 10 unit curriculum.

· Teaches horticulture to young people.

  The Incredible Egg
· Designed for grades 3rd—5th

· A 4 lesson curriculum.

· Addresses the parts of an egg and its nutritive value.

  Pizza Garden: An Agricultural Adventure
· Designed for grades 3rd—5th

· An 8 lesson curriculum.

· This curriculum provides a foundation for youth to learn about various agricultural products that are used to produce the pizza they often consume.

  Science Discovery Series 1 & 2
· Designed for grades 3rd—6th

· The series offers over 10 lessons in a variety of areas that are science based like whales, rocks and minerals, water quality, trees, recycling, meteorology, spiders, oceanography and space exploration.

· The goal of the two curricula is to provide lessons that make science fun.

  SPLASH2O
· Designed for grades 3rd—6th

· A Science-based Program for Learning About Society and H2O.

  Team Up For Good Nutrition
· Designed for grades 3rd and 4th

· The curriculum has 15 lessons with each one addressing Ohio Proficiency Learner Outcomes.

· Goal of the program is to improve the health of children by empowering them to choose a variety of foods, eat more grains, vegetables and fruits and construct a diet lower in fat.

  Weather Together
· Designed for grades 3rd—5th

· This is a 5 week, 5 lesson unit.

· Explores the influence of sunlight, gravity and moisture on the atmosphere and the interaction of these influences which creates weather.
