The 2017 Heart of Ohio Tour will be Saturday October 7th, and Sunday October 8th from 1 pm to 6 pm. This year the tour will embrace the whole county and will provide an Agricultural experience for all ages.

Tour goers can stop by Knox Lake to learn about the history of Knox Lake and fish management. Visit local farms and learn about livestock handling and management of sheep and cattle. Leran how genetics and selective breeding of beef can improve production and herd management. You can visit Butcher Maple Syrup where they will have maple products and syrup for sale while learning about maple process and production. Indian Bear Winery will also have products for sale and you will be able to learn about the process and manufacturing of wine. Visitors to The Bat Nest Park will enjoy the views of the Kokosing River flood plain and wetlands. Keep an eye to the sky for a majestic view of a bald eagle and observe the large-style bat house which can house thousands of bats.

At the end of the tour, stop at the Ariel Foundation Park for self-guided walking tours, narrated trailer rides (limited seating), a visit to the Urton Clock House Museum, and a climb to the top of Rastin Tower (tallest view in Knox County). Learn more about how the park developed and its industrial history. Plan to stay for the Back Porch Swing Band and a Community Square Dance at 7:30 p.m. No experience necessary! Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Mount Vernon High School Key Club. See you there!!
